TRC successfully transitioned the 177 year old Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) into a new $2.5 Billion, 800 bed facility on North Terrace Adelaide.
Due to the enormity of the project TRC was appointed as Relocation Managers a full 2 years before the move commencement, planning the transition to the most intricate of detail.
To date this is the largest and most complex hospital relocation ever undertaken in the Southern Hemisphere with over 7000m3 (equivalent to 250 truck-loads) of sensitive medical equipment, instrumentation, furniture, ICT, machinery, artefacts, artwork (including a stained glass window from the Chapel), patient records and Hospital consumables.
All this whilst the hospital remained fully operational throughout the entire transition process.
There were over 120 separate Departments moved which included 30 Operating Theatres, CSSD, Allied Health disciplines, Pathology, Pharmacy, Cancer Laboratories, Outpatient Clinics including Oncology, Radiotherapy and Medical Imaging as well as Day Surgery, Administration, Patient Wards, ICU and South Australia's busiest Accident and Emergency Department.
