We completed the successful transition of The Peter McCallum Cancer Centre into the state of the art Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Parkville. This complex project required the relocation of over 40 cancer research laboratories, 8 pathology laboratories, extensive outpatient treatment clinics incorporating oncology day therapy and radiation therapy units as well as Day Surgery units, clinical wards, operating theatres, CSSD areas, Allied Health units, mechanical and electrical workshops, a fully functional pharmacy and over 850 medical, research and administration staff.

There were over 7,000 pieces of scientific and medical equipment moved, valued over $30M, 3,000 lineal metres of confidential medical, administration and research records that was packed and unpacked, an 850 piece art collection valued over $5M and over 50 truckloads of associated miscellaneous equipment and contents. As part of our project brief, we were required to manage and coordinate all contractors and vendors associated with the decommissioning and recommissioning of medical and scientific equipment. The entire move was completed on time over a six week period, within budgetary guidelines whilst the centre remained fully operational throughout the relocation process with minimal disruption to the on-going activities of the hospital.
